Should You Hire Someone To Manage Your Facebook Presence
If you’re reading this you have already decided that your business needs to get on Facebook. You’re probably confused about how things on Facebook work. You probably have questions about Custom Tabs and how to keep your page full of content. If you have all of these questions, you might want to consider hiring someone to manage some of these things. Here are some things to think about when you are looking for someone to outsource your Facebook marketing to.
Do they have a Facebook profile?
If the person you are considering doesn’t even have a personal Facebook profile, you need to keep on looking. If the professional you are talking to hasn’t even been using Facebook themselves, they won’t be able to help you with your needs. They don’t have to have everything perfect. They just need to at least be active on Facebook.
Do they have a Facebook Fan Page?
Again the same thing applies here. If they don’t have a Fan page for their own business, they can’t help you with yours. They don’t have to have thousands of people on their page. They just have to have a page and be active on the page.
Are their rates reasonable?
When it comes to social media management, rates are all over the map. IF the person you are talking to has lots of experience under their belts, they will charge more than someone that has just started out. Don’t think you have to use the most expensive service out there to get a good deal. Talk to more than one social media manager before you choose who you will work with.
Does their personality mesh with yours?
Some people are just difficult to work with. If you feel a nagging feeling in your stomach when you have your initial interview, don’t ignore it. If you’re not really hitting it off before money’s changed hands, things will only get worse after a contract has been signed.
Hiring someone to help you with your Facebook marketing can be a smart decision. Now I’m not saying that the person you hire should be in charge of all of your personal interactions. You should still reach out to your fans and make personal connections whenever possible. The person you hire should just be in charge of maintaining the page and letting you know of any issues that come up.

Wise points. It’s not always taboo to have your pages managed, but it’s like dating and has to be a good fit. It’s also all about relationships, if they’re just posting, the. same crap. at. the. same. time. then they aren’t doing a good job.

Exactly. It’s always good practice to spend some time training whoever you hire so they know what you expect.
