On the one hand, I fully understand what you're saying. On the other, not only do you possibly have duplicate content, against yourself no less, but if your blog was down how would you even inform people about the other blog? I know you'd say Twitter & Facebook, but that only works if at least the majority of people following you are on those platforms.
