Facebook vs. Twitter – My opinion of two social media giants.
It seems like you can’t have a discussion about social media without someone asking the question of which is better, Facebook or Twitter. While I can’t possibly hope to end any debate on the subject, I can share my opinion.
For me twitter is the best social media tool to use for business. Yes I know you’re limited to 140 characters on twitter. It’s a lot easier for me to focus on the task at hand when I’m on twitter. When I’m on Facebook, I admit that I get lost in a lot of the applications and games.
Now I’m not suggesting that Facebook is worthless for business use. Absolutely not. You should still have a business presence on Facebook simply because there are some people that LIVE on Facebook that would never ever visit twitter.
Another thing that drives me nuts about Facebook is that they are always changing things around and then not telling you how to fix stuff. I hate that I have to visit 20 different blogs to find out how to do something on Facebook.
Okay so that’s just my two cents on this debate. What has been your experience?

That’s better; well, except for the captcha. lol
Here’s my thought. I don’t believe either one is all that great for business. Twitter is better for possibly driving visitors to your blogs, but that’s about it. There’s just so much noise on Twitter, so to speak, that it’s hard to really conduct any business there unless you get lucky and find one person who will talk to you for awhile via DM. On FB, you’re right, just so many distractions that it’s hard to get people to talk at all. Every group I’m in has almost no conversation, and that’s a shame.

Mitch, you do bring up some good points about there being a lot of noise on Twitter and I didn’t even think about how hard it was to get people to talk to you via dm nowadays. I kinda had a feeling you’d say that about the captcha, but it was the only way I could think of to keep the bots away.
I think facebook is more sophisticated and flexible and with more control what you gonna do..
Hi,
I think social media is the most interesting and very exciting thing and there are two big names are there in this list, twitter and face book. I think millions of people are using this services. I think internet is incomplete with out both the sites.
Keep going on.
I agree with you. Both sites play an important role in social media.
That’s an interesting view point. I never thought about that.
