Buying something online? Check for coupon codes first.

Whenever you buy something online always check for coupon codes. This goes for business and personal purchases. You may find deals that aren’t advertised on the company’s website. I always do that when it is time to renew my domain names. Just type in “company’s name” + coupon codes in Google to see if you can score a deal. Sometimes you can, sometimes you can’t. It’s always good to check. What do you do to save money on business purchases? Leave your tips in the comments section.

Update on CISPA bill…

I’m happy to report that the CISPA bill is dead for now. It didn’t pass the Senate! Yay! So thank you for whatever you did to spread the word about this bill. This proves that we can use the Internet to make a difference. Now let’s keep our eyes open to make sure that they don’t try to pass anything else crazy.

Spread the word! Stop CISPA!

You may notice the ribbon at the top corner of my website saying stop censorship. That pesky little bill is back. While we were all worried about the bomber in Boston, the CISPA bill that we all yelled and screamed about last year passed the House. Now it’s on its way to the Senate. Please take some time to click on the ribbon on my page and send a message to your Senator saying that you want them to vote against this bill. Basically what it will do is make it so that your private data is no longer private. Your data can be given over to the government without your knowledge and you will have very little recourse once it is handed over.

If you’re curious about what you can do to help with this movement, watch the video below.

If you use WordPress on your blog, you can either add a ribbon like I did by going here:

or you could black your site out by going here:

My blog was chosen to be in an infographic about entrepreneur blogs!

Well it’s nice to have your hard work recognized. The people over at Couponaudit.com listed my blog in an infographic about the top 100 entrepreneur blogs to follow in 2013. Now I don’t know what the requirements were to be included. That is not mentioned in the post. Anyway, here is the infographic.

Small Business Fitness Announcement: Vampire 5K Race Comes To Atlanta

It is important for small business owners to be physically fit. You can be much more productive when your body is in good condition. If 5K races are your thing, I have an event for you. It’s the Vampire 5K race. Actually it’s not even a race. This is for people like me who will only run if they feel like they are being chased. Basically you choose to be either a vampire or a citizen. There are different starting points and the two groups don’t see each other until at some point in the race the paths converge. Proceeds from the race benefits local blood donation centers. It will be in Atlanta on April, 26th. To register go to http://www.vampire5k.com. I even have a coupon code for you for $10 off – DONTGETBIT. Don’t let what happened in Boston discourage you from doing what you love.
