Yep it’s that time of year again. Time to trade in that suitcase for a bookbag. Time to send the kiddos back to school. Many places in the US have already started the first week of school. Okay so even though I don’t live and die by PageRank, it’s nice to see my efforts have paid off. I think the Panda update helped my site out a lot. I went from having no PageRank to having a PageRank of 3! Whoo hoo! I don’t know exactly when the PageRank became 3 because I just checked it today. Yay! So basically all I did was focus on building backlinks, doing guest blog posts, posted my blog posts on Twitter and Facebook whenever I had a new post and blogged as consistently as possible.

Whew, I can’t believe it’s already February. This year has already been eventful for me. We had a snow storm, my baby turned one, and I managed to get an infection which caused my blood sugar to get too high, resulting in a hospital stay. So that’s why I haven’t posted in my blog lately. I’m getting back into the swing of things. I’m just kinda bummed out because I had to start taking insulin again (I am deathly afraid of needles). I was able to control my blood sugar with just diet and exercise. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back to that soon.

I am so excited.  Today is a milestone for two reasons.  First, this is my 500th post!  Wow!  Those posts really start to add up over the years.  Second, I have enough “likers” to reserve the vanity url for this blog! What is a vanity url you might ask?

When you first set up a like page on Facebook, you get assigned a url that looks something like this: http://www.facebook.com/pages/something-really-long-that-you-cant-remember

Once you get 25 likers you can assign a username to your Like page that makes sense and is easy to remember.
