What does independence mean to you?
As an entrepreneur, what does independence mean to you? In America, we celebrate Independence day on every July 4th. We celebrate the day we got our independence from Britain. This holiday always makes me think about independence on an individual level. First of all how do you even know when you are independent? What does that really mean. I can tell you what it means to me. In my opinion independence means that you are self reliant. It means that no matter what happens you can find a way to get the things in life that you need. If that means you work two part time jobs until you can find a decent full time job you do that. If it means you do various freelance projects while you build a thriving coaching business, you do that. An independent person is not going to just sit down and let circumstances dictate what happens to them. Now being independent does not mean that you do this all alone. You should have a team of people ready to help you if you need it. Never be afraid to ask for help. Independence just means that you do not sit around and wait on someone else to make an opportunity for you. You go and make it yourself.

Review of Inside the Minds of Winners by Charles Burke
Of all of the internet marketing books I have collected and read over my time working on the internet, this one is still one of the most informative and useful ones I have come across.
Written in 2001 by Charles Burke, this ebook is a series of interviews with some of the most savvy and successful business owners on the net. It is crammed full of words from these people taking about how they manage their own thinking and emotions and lives AND the things they DO to help themselves build greater success.
Charles is graciously offering my readers a FREE copy of this ebook and it is certainly worth your while to download it, read it and even share it with other up and coming business owners.

What do you do when things don’t go according to plans?
Sometimes in business things don’t go the way you planned them. A family member gets sick or you may fall behind on a project. What do you do? Do you freak out and think the world is falling apart or do you figure out a way to make this mishap work in your favor? I hope you do the latter. In business, things often happen that we have no control over. It’s up to you as the small business owner to decide how you are going to react to these types of things.

Don’t doubt what your mind can do if you open it.
When I was at Matt Bacak‘s Marketing Madness event a few weeks ago, I had the privilege of meeting Rhonda Duffy, a local Real Estate agent who also hosts her own radio show. There was a special session for women where we participated in a spoon bending activity. Rhonda explained that we were supposed to pick out a spoon by “talking to the spoon and asking if the spoon would bend for us”. Once we picked out our spoon we were supposed to return to the circle and bend the spoon. I guess my ADD was kicking in pretty strong that day because I had already bent my spoon while she was talking. Oops.
So I went and got another spoon. I waited until the proper time this time around and bent the second spoon. Then she asked us to get another one. I’m thinking, “Well I’ve already bent two spoons so I should be able to sit down, right?” but being the good sport that I am, I got a fork this time and proceeded to bend that one too.

Moral of this story: You can do whatever you put your mind to if you have proper coaching and surround yourself with positive energy.

Keep Your Marketing Efforts Up Even Though It’s the Holiday Season
Keep your marketing efforts up even though it’s the
holidays.
Don’t stop marketing or networking just because there’s a
holiday.
People still need to see your name out there.
Remember that just because it’s a national holiday in your
country, doesn’t mean that it’s a holiday in other countries.
Your ideal customer could be looking for your
product and if you don’t consistently market, they won’t find you. So keep marketing even though your body may
fight with you.
