Changes To Blog Publication Schedule

I just wanted to let you guys know about a few changes I’m making in the frequency with which I publish my blog.  I’m expecting a little girl in late February, early March.  This means that I need to focus on my health more and spend less time online.  So I’ll be publishing twice a week until further notice.  I’ll still make posts about special events as I find out about them.

100 More Women Bloggers To Watch For 2009

A Woman Blogger To Watch

A Woman Blogger To Watch

Do you have any idea how it feels to be checking your stats and discover you’ve made a top 100 list? Let me tell you it feels wonderful! I must say that I found out about this rather late since the original post was made in August! This is actually the first time I’ve made such a list and I feel extremely honored to be included in this list.

If you’re new to blogging, here’s a few tips to help you navigate the wild and wacky world of blogging.

1. Write about something you’re passionate about.
I know this sounds simple, but it’s important. You have to be excited about what you write about. It will show in your writing if you are just writing about something just because you think it will make you money.

2. Post often, but don’t be afraid to take a break every now and then.
It is true that you should post at least 2-3 times a week. This keeps your blog content fresh. However, don’t kill yourself trying to come up with content for your blog. If you are sick, by all means take care of yourself! If you need a mental break, take one. Your writing will show when you try to force content.

3. Comment on other people’s blogs.
This is absolutely crucial. It’s important to comment on blogs that relate to your subject matter. Bloggers love to see comments on their blogs. When you make comments on other people’s blogs you are showcasing your expertise in your chosen subject area.

Once again, it is a great honor to be featured on this list of Top 100 Women Bloggers. Feel free to check the site out and check out some of the other blogs listed on the site.

Blog Action Day 2009-Climate Change

Wow, I’ve been gone from my blog way too long. Here’s why, I’m expecting a little girl in either early March or late February. I’ve been taking it easy lately.

So today is Blog Action Day and the theme is climate change. Now I had to seriously think of a way to make the theme fit in with the overall theme of my blog. So here’s what I came up with…

As much as possible, try to think of “green” solutions for your business. Do you really have to print out that 45 page ebook? Try saving it on your hard drive for future reference or you could just print out the pages you need instead of printing out the whole ebook.

If you’re going to a live event, try to find someone that lives near you to carpool with. This way you reduce the number of cars on the road and you get to spend some face time with some of the people in your network.

These are just a few suggestions that I have come up with to help you go green in your business.

If you’d like to participate in this year’s blog action day, you still have time to register and get a blog post up! Just go to www.blogactionday.org to register your blog.
