Don’t let social media take over your life.

woman with social media iconsThis is going to be a brief post. It is just something that I wanted to get off of my chest. So I saw a post on Facebook asking people what they would do if Facebook or Twitter ceased to exist. I would be absolutely upset if Facebook ceased to exist because a lot of the friendships I’ve made, I have made because of Facebook. I would not be able to keep in touch with my family that lives in different states. It would just be awful.

Now one statement made me puzzled. One person said they would be able to enjoy life again if Facebook ceased to exist. I can’t imagine letting something as simple as social media control my whole existence. Social media is supposed to be a tool. It’s not something that is supposed to run your whole life. Social media should not cause you to not be happy. If you see something you don’t like on social media, you can unfriend that person. You can leave the group that is annoying you. You can scroll on by that post that offends you. You don’t have to be unhappy just because you are on social media. If you feel like you spend too much time handling social media related stuff, delegate that stuff to someone else. Social media doesn’t have to take over your whole life. There is a happy medium.

  1. DeAnna you are right,
it is always our own decision how we use social media.
It should not rule our life. It is an awesome tool to stay
connected and build relationships and stay in touch with the world.
But it is our own responsibility how we use it.
