Security Awareness Training

I’m sure you are aware of how easily systems can get broken into. It seems like every other day we see news stories about a website getting hacked into and information getting stolen. This is obviously not something you want happening to your company. This type of thing is a PR disaster. I can only imagine the legal hassles that happen when these things occur. So what can you do to prevent this? Well you can make sure that your employees are trained in how to keep data secure. You can make sure that your employees are using passwords that aren’t easy to guess.

You also want to be careful of using hot spots when you travel. If you know you are going to be traveling a lot, you may want to change your passwords to something totally different when you are away. Once you’re done traveling, you should change your passwords again just in case someone was spying on what you were doing.

You also want to keep your sensitive data such as credit card numbers and addresses safe. Keep that information under lock and key. Also be sure to limit the people that have access to that information. We are always concerned about virtual information but we also want to protect physical data.

Be sure to back up your systems. Keep crucial information on an external hard drive so that if something does happen to your computer system, you will still be able to get some work done while you are sorting things out with your main system.

You can train your employees on security issues virtually so you and your employees don’t have to spend a lot of money on traveling. iLMS can help you train your employees so that they can help secure your data. Virtual training will help your employees be more productive because they won’t lose time traveling.
