How You Can Use Facebook Groups To Get More Clients

Posted on

Social media is a great platform to gain new clientele. Facebook groups filled with writers are a good place to start. Within these groups you will find others within your niche and those that require your specific skill set. This can lead to long term relationships, guest blogging opportunities, and referrals being sent your way.

Networking With Bloggers In Facebook Groups

Getting to know a few bloggers is a good thing. Each blogger has their own approach as to how to be successful. Sharing tips with each other is a helpful way to build a solid reputation in a group. This can lead to guest blogging opportunities. Most blogs ask for an author bio, within this bio you can add a link to your own blog. Those that read the entry are welcome to contact you directly for your writing or business services.

What to do if you wind up in Facebook jail.

Posted on

Well I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later. I wound up in Facebook jail. They prevented me from adding new friends or sending messages to people that weren’t already on my friends list. This created a major headache this past week because I use Facebook primarily for business. I get a lot of writing work through Facebook and it was a hassle not being able to add people to my friend list or contact them.

Plan for a crowd when you use deal sites

Posted on

I know there have already been lots written about deal sites such as groupon. I just want to remind you to PLAN before you put up a deal on a site like groupon. This can be a chance for your business to shine or it can be a chance to ruin your reputation with new clients. Be sure you have enough staff on hand to handle the increased business. Make sure that you are clear on the terms of your deal and how it can be redeemed. You don’t want to wind up like Posh Nails getting bad publicity because you treated your groupon customers poorly. Remember that people don’t have to take poor treatment lying down. They can retaliate by reporting what you did to them like this blogger did here: In this day in age you don’t know who has thousands of twitter followers or hundreds of friends on Facebook to either rave or rant about you to.

My Thoughts On The New Facebook Timeline

Posted on

Normally when Facebook makes wide sweeping changes I don’t like them. Usually when they make these changes, it makes Facebook worse and not better. However, I really like what they have done with the new timeline. Basically they have made it easy for people to see what you have been up to in the past. If you want to get the new timeline for your own Facebook page you can go here for instructions:

Protect Your Assets: Essential Safeguards for Small Businesses
Running a small business is hard work, and you simply may not have the time or the resources to keep track of all the safety concerns that plague your operation on a daily basis.  For this reason it behooves you to create policies and implements security measures meant to protect yourself, your employees, and your business as a whole.  After all, you don’t want to have to deal with theft, damage, lawsuits, or other major hassles if you can possibly avoid them.  So here are a few safeguards you may want to put in place.
  1. Firewall.  Data theft is just as big a concern these days for some companies as potential robbery of goods.  In order to protect yourself from hackers, spyware, and viruses you need to make sure that your firewall provides adequate protection for your computer network.  Hiring a professional and paying a little more for extra security is a good way to ensure that your system is safe from attack and destruction.

How Can I Build My Email List?

Posted on

I’m a member of a lot of business related Facebook groups. That’s a good way to connect with people that are interested in what you are interested in. One of the groups I am involved in, Atlanta Women Entrepreneurs is extremely active with people asking lots of business related questions. I have to sometimes pull myself away from the group’s page or I’ll spend all day on there helping out with this or that question related to small business. One question made me want to write a blog post so I didn’t crowd the group or take over the conversation. So here’s the question that started it all (I will also link to the person that asked the question as well as the person that answered the question):

Happy Dance! My Blog Finally Has Some PageRank

Posted on

Okay so even though I don’t live and die by PageRank, it’s nice to see my efforts have paid off. I think the Panda update helped my site out a lot. I went from having no PageRank to having a PageRank of 3! Whoo hoo! I don’t know exactly when the PageRank became 3 because I just checked it today. Yay! So basically all I did was focus on building backlinks, doing guest blog posts, posted my blog posts on Twitter and Facebook whenever I had a new post and blogged as consistently as possible.
