Not the wordy type? Tip about the length of your podcast

microphone

I know a lot of you aren’t that talkative. Now if you are talkative, this post might not apply to you. Don’t let the fact that you aren’t a talker keep you from recording a podcast. It is actually better to record a shorter podcast than a longer one. A podcast should be no longer than 30 minutes. The reason is that you actually want people to listen to and act on the information you are sharing with them.

A lot of people like to download podcasts and listen to them while they are working out or on the train. If your podcast is too long, your listener won’t be able to listen to it in one sitting.  So what are you waiting for?  Stop reading this blog and start recording your podcast!

Re-post of 30 Day Power Blogger Challenge Announcement

30 Day PowerBlogger Challenge

Yes I know. I am participating in another challenge. I just can’t help myself. I am like one of those little kids who can’t say no to a dare (although I always said no to dares when I was little).
The culprit behind this challenge is none other than Connie Ragen Green. She’s @conniegreen on twitter for those of you following me on twitter.
So basically the objective is to post thirty 100 word blog posts between now and July 7th. This will be a bit of a challenge for me because I am just not that wordy. So what this means for you, my loyal readers is that you’ll see me post to my blog two times a day on the days that I write in my blog instead of just one. That is the only way that I see myself getting through this. Oh yeah, if you’re a blogger and you want to join me in my insanity, here’s the link with the rules:

I’ve learned something new today…

You learn something new everyday. I’ve learned that things stay in google’s cache for only a few days. I didn’t copy my blog posts soon enough apparently. When I looked back at the cache, my old blog posts were GONE!!! Oh the horror! So that means I have to try to remember what the heck I wrote in those posts originally or just start from scratch. I think I’ll just have to start from scratch. I will have to post the announcement about the blogging challenge again. That’s the only way for everything to make sense, since I’ll be doing things a little differently than I normally do. Stick around. At least you know my blog won’t be boring…

Did you know that Google keeps a record of your website?

So by now you know I am just a little bit obessessed with this blog’s search engine positioning. I know it’s a bad thing. I check everyday to see where it is on Google for my keywords. It’s bad. I should probably find a SEO addiction group or something. During the recent battle I had with my blog, I discovered something. Google keeps my blog posts in their cache! That made me a very happy girl. What that means is I can just copy my previous blog posts into my current blog! So what I’m going to do over the next few days is to repost the old blog posts in here with the notation of “This was originally posted on ___date” so I don’t confuse anyone. I just wanted to share that with you. I thought that was pretty neat.

I got my blog back!

I got my blog back! Yaay. I figured out what went wrong.   It was my theme that made my blog die.   So I have to find another theme.  So for now I am  keeping this basic theme up. I’ve got soo much to do today it’s ridiculous. I’ve been reminded of a very important blogging lesson through all of this. BACK YOUR BLOG UP DAILY. I was able to restore most of my blog since I had backed it up sometime toward the end of May, but I lost all of June’s posts. :-( Lesson learned.  From now on I must remember to back my blog up every day.
