A new year brings new goals and resolutions for most people. I don’t make New Year’s Resolutions. I just keep plugging away at my long term plan. For those of you that have made new goals for this year, here are some tips to help you stay on track.
Find an accountability partner.
When you’re trying to do something new, it is helpful to find someone that will help you stick to your new plan. Whether your goal is to lose weight or to be more focused, a good accountability partner will help you on those days when you just don’t feel like doing anything.
Make your goals public.
This can be as simple as posting your goals on your Facebook page. Making your goals public can also help you stay on track because you will have other people supporting you in achieving your goals.
Don’t beat yourself up if you backslide.
Sometimes that hot light is too irresistible to resist. Sometimes you are so tired from work that you just decide to Netflix and chill instead of getting on your treadmill. It’s okay. It’s not the end of the world. Don’t spend three days depressed because you ate a dozen doughnuts. Just do better the next time.
