Konfused About Klout

I will admit it. I get baffled sometimes. Right now I’m baffled about Klout. I get that it is supposed to measure my social media interactions and give it a score. What I don’t get is how to increase my score and how to qualify for the perks. If any of you are familiar with how this all works, leave me a comment. Also, if you think I shouldn’t even be concerned with it, leave a comment. Meanwhile, I guess I’ll just sit here and be konfused… I mean confused. Oh yeah, and if you want to check out what I’m konfused about, you can go here: http://www.klout.com/deannatroupe

  1. I actually wrote about my experiment with Klout. Basically it measures your influence on people in the “now”. I look at your Twitter stats and you have a lot of people connected to you, and you’re following a lot of people as well. You have a lot of tweets overall. But you’re not a “serial” Twitter person these days. You used to do it a lot but with your child and doing other things you may tweet 5 or 6 times a day at most now. That’s just not going to get it done on Twitter.

Also, you need to have more people retweeting things you put out. Klout uses that as a major gauge based on if all those people following you are actually looking at what you have to tweet.

In essence it takes a lot of time to get a high Klout score, and in many areas it might not be worth it.
