This is going to be a brief post. It is just something that I wanted to get off of my chest. So I saw a post on Facebook asking people what they would do if Facebook or Twitter ceased to exist. I would be absolutely upset if Facebook ceased to exist because a lot of the friendships I’ve made, I have made because of Facebook. I would not be able to keep in touch with my family that lives in different states. It would just be awful.Details
I’ll admit it. I was once one of those, “Oh you must blog x many times a week to be a successful blogger.” I tried to blog daily. That didn’t work. I tried blogging three times a week. That didn’t work. So now I’ve come full circle and I am going back to blogging once per week. I would much rather be able to give you meaningful posts than to feel forced to throw something together just so I can say that I have a blog post put up. Now if you are one that can blog more than that and not lose the quality that your readers have come to expect from you, then, by all means, blog away. Just don’t feel pressured to blog a certain number of times per week because some expert has said so. My advice: Find a schedule that works with your lifestyle and stick to it.Details
For some reason, the smart folks at Facebook seem to think that we want our newsfeed to be on Top Stories instead of most recent. They are sneaky and will change your settings to Top Stories even if you have it set to most recent. They do this several times a day. So here is how you change your settings to Most recent if you find out they have changed your settings AGAIN. These instructions are for the desktop site. I haven’t figured out how to do it on the mobile app yet. I’ll make another post once I figure that one out.Details
As a small business owner, you may be tempted to bend your rules a little bit to get clients. That is not a good idea. People talk. If you do one thing for one client and then try to do something different for another client, people will notice. You don’t want to get a reputation for being flaky. Now will you lose some clients because of your policies? Perhaps. But that just means that that particular project wasn’t a good fit for you. That doesn’t mean you won’t get other clients. You will. There will be people that will be glad to abide by your rules. Just be patient and continue to stick to your guns. The people that decide they don’t want to do business the way you do are just helping you keep your calendar clear for the people that will follow the rules you have already set forth. Remember, you set these policies in your business for a reason. Be firm. Don’t back down just trying to get a client. You will wind up regretting it in the long run.Details
As more and more women decide to start a business, it gets harder to stand out among other female entrepreneurs. However, it can be done. Here are a few suggestions to get you started.
Utilize Social Media
Social media can be used for so much more than keeping in touch with friends and family. Create pages for both yourself and your business on multiple social media sites (Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, etc.). Then, share content that shows off the things that you have to offer. Be sure to highlight ways that you are different than your competition. For example, if you’re the only day care service in your town that also provides transportation, be sure to bring that up in your posts.Details
So I have been experimenting with different ways to earn money using your smart phone. One of the apps I came across was fronto. Basically you get points every time you unlock your phone. As far as I know, this app is for Android devices only. Here is a screenshot so you know that you are downloading the correct app.
I got enough points to get an Amazon gift card and to cash out for some paypal money. Here is the payment proof for the paypal.
This post has been on my mind for a while. It has just taken me a while to sit down and write it out. Today I’m talking to you about customer service. I know it’s not a very sexy topic, but it needs to be discussed. In today’s competitive marketplace, you need every advantage you can get. Having good customer service is one good way to distinguish yourself from your competitors. Here are some things you can do as a small business owner to make sure your customers have a good experience.

There is a lot more to achieving any goal than just having the goal. But it is a first step. You may wonder how some people seem so great at achieving their goals while other people aren’t so good at it. Part of the reason why some people fail is that they do not have a specific goal, one that is clear and focused. In addition, they do not have a schedule of action to actually work toward achieving the goal. In order to meet any goal, start doing these five things today.
1. Craft Clear, Specific and Doable GoalsDetails
A website generates two main types of visitors. There are the visitors that stop by and leave. They never return again. Then there are the visitors that stop by. They bookmark your site. They sign up for your opt-in list. They subscribe to your blog. These are the visitors you want. When you can motivate more new visitors to come back, you’re on your way to converting them to customers.
As a website owner you want to make sure your visitors are happy. Happy visitors stay on your website longer. They come back for repeat visits. And of course they buy from your website. When it comes to a website’s structure, there are two elements that can make or break your user experience.
Quick load times
There’s nothing that squashes a visitor’s happiness faster than not being able to load a website page. If the page doesn’t come up quickly, your visitor is gone. We’ve grown accustomed to instant gratification online. If your web page takes longer than a few seconds to load, you may miss out on valuable prospects and visitors. They won’t be happy while they’re waiting for your pages to load.Details
