In honor of my middle daughter’s birthday last week, we went to see Captain America: The Winter Soldier. It was everything I expected from a Marvel movie. It was totally awesome! I even learned a few business applications. Read the rest of the blog post to find out more.
Have A Team
Captain America is a pretty formidable opponent by himself. However, he is even more threatening because of the team he has around him. You may be great at what you do. However, you can’t be in two places at one time. You need to have a team in place to help you get the things done that you can’t do.
Know Your Team
There may be times when your team isn’t on its best behavior. During this movie, Nick Fury, leader of S.H.I.E.L.D suspected that something was amiss in his team of agents. He knew who he could count on to get things done and sniff out the bad guys. You need to know your team so well that you can determine who the bad apples are.
Be Able To Remove Yourself From Your Business
Ideally, your business should be able to run without you working directly on it. This may be hard to achieve when you first start out. When Nick Fury removed himself from S.H.I.E.L.D’s daily operations, things ran fairly normally because of the team that was built and because of the systems that were in place. You need to work on implementing systems and building a team so that your business can run in your absence. You need to build streams of income that can run without you. This can be achieved by using assistants and creating sources of passive income.
When people start a business all they think of is good times and dollar signs. No one expects to get sick or have to take care of a sick family member when they are writing their business plan. I know I sound like a broken record, but please, please, please have some type of contingency plan in case all heck breaks loose.
